I’ll be the first one to admit it. I cannot stand those trifle desserts. You know, the ones that look like this:
Sure, they are pretty to look at, but have you ever thought about what goes into those things? Here’s a standard ingredient list:
1 (1.5 ounce) bar chocolate candy
This was the type of dessert that I would have devoured in my obese days without really thinking about what went into it. Even then though, I didn’t like the way that dessert looked after a few spoonfuls had been dished out. To me, it started to look like people had just dumped their half-eaten plates of the trifle right back into the bowl for someone else to eat.
The unhealthy dessert trifles hold no appeal for me anymore. I can easily pass those things up.
When you are faced with a dessert table at a social function or a dessert menu at a restaurant, really take a minute to look it over carefully before giving in. Desserts are not evil and I have them occasionally, but it has to be a dessert that I actually like and one that is worth the calories/sugar. Many desserts floating around at social events are not all that great. Give yourself freedom to pass them up in favor of foods that are good for you and good for your weight loss plan.
This brings me to my quick, easy Monday question for today.
